Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jorgen Kruth (ranked 907 p4p, 2529 weight class) and Kittisak Saetang (ranked 67 p4p, 158 weight class). Kruth's entrance music is Black Hole Sun- Soundgarden. A fine choice. Kittisak Saetang will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jorgen Kruth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kittisak Saetang!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kruth closes the distance but Saetang moves to the side
and Saetang counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Jorgen Kruth has been cut.
Kruth fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
We've been hearing reports that Kruth has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Saetang changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Kruth fails with the takedown.
Kruth misses with a takedown
and Saetang counters with a nice body shot.

A nice leg kick from Saetang, right into the meat of the thigh.

Kruth shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Saetang napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Kruth feinted with a counter takedown.

Kruth shoots in and bounces Saetang off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Saetang wants to stand but Kruth is controlling the position.

Kruth stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Saetang swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kruth slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Kruth is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Saetang's shoulder. That is not cool.
Kruth wants to take a breather but Saetang manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Kruth.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kruth engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kruth looking to sit in guard and control but Saetang gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kruth seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Saetang wants to get up but he can't break Kruth's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Saetang fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Kruth throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Saetang was covering up waiting for the punch and Kruth finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Saetang wants to get back to his feet but Kruth is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kruth seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Jorgen Kruth overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kruth stands and throws Saetang's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Saetang prevents Kruth from improving position.

Kruth wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Saetang, who protects the arm well.
Saetang really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kruth. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Saetang gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Kruth tries to control but Saetang wriggling away.
Kruth fails to move to back control.

Kruth working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Saetang's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Kruth jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Saetang is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Saetang and Kruth has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Saetang is pushing Kruth's head away, looking to escape. Kruth manages to hold on to the position though.
Kruth wants to lay and pray for a moment but Saetang keeps working.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Saetang moves out of range as Kruth strikes.
Kruth has his takedown stuffed
letting Saetang counter with a right hand.
Saetang throws a sloppy head kick and Kruth moves out of range easily.
Kruth shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Saetang defends it nicely.
Saetang throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nice takedown defense from Saetang. No joy for Kruth on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jorgen Kruth. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Saetang works Kruth's body with a nice hook.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Saetang enables Kruth to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Saetang manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Saetang wants to get back to his feet but Kruth is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Saetang bucks up and tries to throw Kruth off but instead Kruth has got his back!
Kruth tries to get the hooks in deep but Saetang pushed the leg off.

Kruth looking for the choke but no joy.
Kruth is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
