Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kirill Berkut (ranked 1085 p4p, 1585 weight class) and Ele Meno (ranked 99 p4p, 145 weight class). Kirill Berkut could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ele Meno's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kirill Berkut!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ele Meno!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meno misses the shot to the body.
Berkut tries to counter with a takedown but Meno is quick to defend against it.
Berkut lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Berkut tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Meno swivels and escapes.
Berkut just misses with a punch to the body.
Berkut shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Meno counter with a right hand.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Meno can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Berkut is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Meno is just riding it out for now. Berkut eventually gives up the hold.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kirill Berkut will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Berkut tries to score a power double leg takedown but Meno sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Berkut somewhat.
Meno swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Berkut.
Meno throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

A looping hook to the body misses from Berkut. Meno does a little dance to reset his feet.

Berkut shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Meno sprawls well. Meno wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Berkut gets slowly back to his feet.

Berkut bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Meno is not content to let Berkut control the position.
Berkut lands a decent elbow from side control.
Berkut misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Berkut cracks Meno with a big right hand but Meno just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Meno is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Meno is looking for a sweep.
Berkut trying to control the action but Meno is working from the bottom.
Meno tries to bench press Berkut off him but Berkut keeps the position.

Berkut connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Meno some visible discomfort.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Berkut lands a nice forearm strike.

Meno is rocked!

Berkut lands a strong strike to the head of Meno. That's dazed him! Berkut looking to finish here. Meno is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Berkut lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kirill Berkut!
After the fight, Kirill Berkut was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
