The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joe Jr scores with a crisp jab that stopped Branco in his tracks.
Joe Jr with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Branco takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Joe Jr lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Joe Jr falls off balance throwing a combination

and Branco counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Branco trying to control but Joe Jr is working from the bottom.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Joe Jr is trying to control the position but Branco postures up.

Branco thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Branco pushes down on Joe Jr's leg and manages to get into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Branco seems to be looking for submissions.
