Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Corwin Anstey (ranked 1658 p4p, 2569 weight class) and Dan Averescu (ranked 224 p4p, 319 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Averescu's choice of entrance music: Guns N' Roses - Welcome To The Jungle. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

With a record of 21 - 28 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dan Averescu!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Averescu throws a right hand that misses
and Anstey counters with a straight right hand.
Anstey stalks Averescu and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Averescu's face. Averescu staggers backwards, shaken.

It looks like Dan Averescu has been cut.
Anstey uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Averescu.
Anstey doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Averescu counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Averescu stuns Anstey with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Anstey forces Averescu back against the cage and clinches.
Averescu is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Anstey is trying to pull guard but Averescu has him pressed against the cage.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Averescu can do anything to dispel that myth.

Anstey has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Averescu finds it's way round the side to connect with Anstey's head.

Averescu has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Anstey is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Anstey bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Averescu takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Averescu lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Averescu might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

That has opened up Dan Averescu's cut even more.
Anstey tries to close the distance and clinch but Averescu swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Anstey tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Averescu manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Anstey is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Averescu's half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Averescu is looking to reverse the position.
Corwin Anstey overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Anstey content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Averescu is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Averescu wants to control but Anstey postures up.
Averescu tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Anstey presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Averescu somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Dan Averescu.
I think Averescu has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
