Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anton Messier (ranked 3586 p4p, 3439 weight class) and Methuselah Honeysuckle (ranked 502 p4p, 490 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Honeysuckle's choice of entrance music: Dropkick Murphy's - Warriors Code. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Messier lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Honeysuckle circles away quickly and effectively.
Messier misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Honeysuckle throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Messier falls off balance throwing a combination

and Honeysuckle counters by moving into the clinch.
Messier takes a knee right on the jaw!

It looks like Anton Messier has been cut.
Honeysuckle lands a nice knee to the body.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Honeysuckle.
Messier jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Honeysuckle walks away with a smile on his face. Messier gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Messier has been working on his balance at Cozad The Island, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Honeysuckle.
Anton Messier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Honeysuckle's coach down at Cozad The Island was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Honeysuckle's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Honeysuckle creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Messier's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Messier drops to his knees and Honeysuckle pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
