Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Christ Benoit (ranked 3122 p4p, 2670 weight class) and Bruno Miranda (ranked 401 p4p, 362 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Benoit might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Amazing Grace. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miranda thows a left - swing and a miss!
Benoit misses with a looping right.
Benoit throws a shot from downtown. Miranda moves away and avoids it.
Miranda looks to land a left hand but Benoit moved out of range nicely.

Benoit ducks under a wild hook from Miranda.
Miranda throws out a powerful jab.
Benoit lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Benoit throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Miranda lands a really nice looking cross but Benoit seems unphased.

and Miranda counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Benoit fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Miranda on the side of the head.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Miranda.
Miranda ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Benoit moves away.
Miranda throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Benoit's waist but Benoit gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Miranda off to one side.
Benoit swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Miranda lands with a hook. Benoit tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Benoit throws a right and a left that Miranda avoids nicely.

and Miranda counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Benoit throws the left hand but Miranda avoids the punch easily.
A decent looking cross lands there for Miranda.
Benoit throws a body shot but no joy.
Some bone on bone action there as Miranda checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Miranda displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Benoit throws out the jab.
Miranda is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Benoit had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
Miranda connects with a crisp jab.
Miranda is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Benoit.
Benoit tries to bum rush Miranda with a series of wild strikes but Miranda uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Benoit throws the left hand but Miranda avoids the punch easily.
Miranda tries to counter with a clinch but Benoit shakes him off and moves away.
We've been told by Benoit's head coaches at Kalashnikov ELITE MMA Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Benoit moves into range and connects with a jab.

Benoit tries to score with a low kick but Miranda moves his leg out of the way.

Miranda has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Miranda slips a jab from Benoit.
And Miranda tries to counter it with a takedown but Benoit pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Oh Benoit is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Miranda circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Benoit to the canvas! Benoit doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Miranda keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
