Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Verus forces Badass back against the cage and clinches.

Badass escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Verus has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Verus gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Badass.

Verus closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Verus lands in his opponent's guard.

Badass uses the cage to get back to his feet.
A swing and a miss from Badass.
Badass tries a low kick but Verus avoids it.
A chopping leg kick lands by Badass.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Verus shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Verus was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Verus working the ground and pound but Badass is defending the strikes.
Badass wants to control but Verus postures up.
Badass is trying to buck Verus off.
Verus moves into full mount!
Verus has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Verus looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Badass tries to lock up and control but Verus gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Badass is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Badass knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Verus on the ground.

Verus working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Badass looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Verus! Submission of the night perhaps?
