Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yusuke Urameshi (ranked 284 p4p, 222 weight class) and Svalbard Haudegen (ranked 41 p4p, 35 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Urameshi might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Smile Bomb. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 47 - 26 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yusuke Urameshi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Svalbard Haudegen!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haudegen misses with a body shot
and Urameshi counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Haudegen throws a shot from downtown. Urameshi moves away and avoids it.

so Haudegen counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Haudegen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Urameshi is keeping the position for now.
Urameshi wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Haudegen manages to pass to side control.
Urameshi looks like he's trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Urameshi has one foot on Haudegen's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Haudegen has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

A little feinted left hand from Urameshi on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Yusuke Urameshi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
No joy there for Urameshi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Haudegen throws an overhand right that lands on Urameshi's shoulder, as Urameshi tries to avoid the shot.
Svalbard Haudegen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Urameshi misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Haudegen.
And Haudegen tries to counter it with a takedown but Urameshi pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Haudegen throws a body shot but no joy.
Haudegen uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Urameshi.

Haudegen moves out of range as Urameshi strikes.

Urameshi is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Haudegen misses with a straight left.

Urameshi ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Haudegen moves away.

Haudegen tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Urameshi lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Haudegen at a distance.

and Haudegen counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Urameshi is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Haudegen dives into side control.

Urameshi pushes Haudegen away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Haudegen gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Haudegen wants to control but Urameshi is keeping him busy.

Haudegen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Urameshi is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Haudegen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Urameshi is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Haudegen has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Haudegen is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Urameshi is trying to escape and Haudegen transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Urameshi is forced to tap! Nice work there by Haudegen! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Svalbard Haudegen!
Svalbard Haudegen seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
Yusuke Urameshi spoke after the fight, saying 'You shouldn't talk, it makes you sound stupid'.
