Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Macka Briggs (ranked 184 p4p, 143 weight class) and Dakota Thibodeaux Jr. (ranked 31 p4p, 21 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Briggs might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Stepping Razor by Peter Tosh. Thibodeaux Jr. has chosen Rags2Riches as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dakota Thibodeaux Jr.!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Steve Erwin and Donatello Bradman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Briggs misses with a body punch
and Thibodeaux Jr. counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Macka Briggs has been cut.
Briggs throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Thibodeaux Jr.'s waist but Thibodeaux Jr. gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Briggs off to one side.
Thibodeaux Jr. swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Briggs swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Thibodeaux Jr. on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

A little jabbing left from Thibodeaux Jr. on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Briggs has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Thibodeaux Jr. is trying to keep an underhook but Briggs manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Briggs is stalling here. Thibodeaux Jr. is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Briggs seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Thibodeaux Jr. has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It seemed like Thibodeaux Jr. was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Thibodeaux Jr. just misses with a elbow thrown towards Briggs's brow.

In his post fight interview, Dakota Thibodeaux Jr. started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
