Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kwame Nti (ranked 444 p4p, 515 weight class) and Basko Godwin (ranked 76 p4p, 88 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kwame Nti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Basko Godwin!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Bruno Lombardi and Steve Montenegro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Godwin throws the kick towards the body but Nti avoids it.
Godwin walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Nti checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Godwin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Nti.
Nti attempts a counter takedown but Godwin avoids it well and moves away.
Godwin takes a shot right to the bread basket.
A left lands for Godwin.
Nti keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Godwin.
Nti has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Hammer House of Horror in the buildup to the fight.
Godwin connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Nti's hands.

It looks like Kwame Nti has been cut.
Nti ducks under a wild hook from Godwin.
Nti tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Godwin was well out of range. Poor timing from Nti.

Nti closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Nti lands in his opponent's guard.

Godwin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nti can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Godwin scores with a kick to the body.

Godwin fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Godwin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nti moves away.
Nti appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Nti changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Godwin tries to avoid it but Nti manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Godwin to the ground. Godwin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Godwin replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Nti blocks it well.

Godwin has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Nti is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Godwin has a couple of punches blocked by Nti.
Nti has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Godwin is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Nti is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Godwin keeps the fight on the outside.
Godwin throws a leg kick but Nti checks it.
Nti slips under a jab from Godwin.
Godwin takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Nti takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Nti takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Nti closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Godwin to the mat! Godwin manages to get full guard.

Godwin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nti gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Godwin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kwame Nti will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Nti takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Godwin thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Nti if he has to take too many more of those.
Godwin jabs Nti right on the nose. Nti blinks but takes it well.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
