Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pultti Pyssy (ranked 1136 p4p, 1108 weight class) and Eddie Ryan (ranked 121 p4p, 120 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pultti Pyssy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddie Ryan!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Paul Tew and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryan waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Pyssy.
Ryan avoids the body shot from Pyssy.
Pyssy throws a hook to the side of Ryan's head but Ryan sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Ryan changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Ryan throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Pyssy looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Pyssy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ryan manages to avoid it.
Pyssy looks to throw the jab but Ryan is out of range.
Ryan misses with an uppercut.
Ryan throws a body shot but no joy.
Pyssy bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A looping hook to the body misses from Pyssy. Ryan does a little dance to reset his feet.
Pyssy throws a right hand that Ryan ducks under and follows up with a left that Ryan also avoids with ease.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ryan throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Pyssy on the side of the head.
Pyssy bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Pyssy appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Ryan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pyssy.

Ryan drives through and clinches with Pyssy against the cage.
Ryan misses with a short punch on the inside.

Pyssy stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Pyssy manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Pyssy trying to control the position from guard on top but Ryan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pyssy seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Pyssy continues to stall.

Pyssy drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ryan looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ryan looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ryan!


Ryan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Ryan looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Ryan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ryan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Pyssy is trying to work for a sweep but Ryan has mounted him!
Pyssy holds on to Ryan as tight as he can, avoiding damage.

Ryan jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Pyssy manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Ryan goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Pyssy has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Ryan but great work by Pyssy.

Pyssy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pyssy is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ryan is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Pyssy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ryan moves away.
Pyssy throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Pyssy walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Ryan checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Pyssy missing with a left hand there. Ryan was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Ryan throws out a loose jab but Pyssy uses good head movement to avoid it.

Ryan shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Ryan lands with a hook. Pyssy tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Ryan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pyssy looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Pyssy is looking to reverse the position.

Ryan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pyssy, who protects the arm well.

Pyssy regains half guard.
Pyssy has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ryan is working away from the top position though.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Ryan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Ryan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pyssy to the mat! Pyssy manages to get full guard.
Pyssy looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Ryan puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Eddie Ryan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ryan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
