The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dupont moves in looking to clinch but Maximilian pushes him off.
Maximilian was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Dupont tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Maximilian paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Maximilian circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dupont tries to grapple but his opponent circles

so Maximilian counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maximilian won't allow Dupont to sweep him here.
Dupont keeping moving, preventing Maximilian from controlling successfully.
Dupont wants to get back to his feet but Maximilian is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Dupont scrambles and gets back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Maximilian gets the takedown into side control.
Dupont tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Maximilian is working for a rear naked choke. Dupont is not defending it well and Maximilian has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Dupont refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Dupont's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
