The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Leandro Rodrigues.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.

Priest shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Zulu napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Zulu tries to buck Priest off but Priest is having none of it.

Zulu felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Priest drops back, looking for a kneebar! Zulu looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Zulu looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Zulu!

Priest is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Zulu is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Priest wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Zulu is the more experienced fighter here and he's going to need to draw on some of that experience if he's going to pull this one out the bag.
Zulu is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Zulu is not going to allow Priest to sit and survive in this position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Let's hope that Zulu has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
You can see the frustration on Priest's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

It looks like Zulu might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Zulu is continuing to stall.

Priest tries to escape but Zulu has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
