PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Baki Hanma (ranked 2210 p4p, 2780 weight class) and Liwa Kursiwa (ranked 185 p4p, 225 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hanma might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to B-Complex - Beautiful Lies. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Liwa Kursiwa!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hanma lands with a right hand.
Hanma definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Kursiwa throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hanma was covering up waiting for the punch and Kursiwa finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Kursiwa trying to control the position from guard on top but Hanma is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hanma wants to sweep here but Kursiwa controlling him for the moment.

Hanma is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Kursiwa won't allow Hanma to sweep him here.

Kursiwa must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Hanma had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kursiwa defends it easily.

Hanma is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Hanma is pulling down on Kursiwa's head to control his posture.

Hanma working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kursiwa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kursiwa manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kursiwa has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Hanma to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Kursiwa is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Hanma pulls down on the head and he's put Kursiwa to sleep! This one is all over!

A very excited looking Baki Hanma rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
