This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 0 losses; Marcus Shakes! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Rantang Gustus!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Kenichi Hosakawa.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Gustus has Shakes up against the cage in a clinch.
Gustus is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Shakes is defending well.

Gustus pulls guard effortlessly.

Gustus throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Shakes escapes and throws Gustus's legs to the side, diving into side control!

The referee asks Shakes politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Shakes prefers to stall for the moment though.

Shakes perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Shakes takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Gustus is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Shakes pulls his head out easily.
Shakes is taking a breather. Gustus says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Shakes has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Gustus is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Shakes is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Gustus wants to improve his position but Shakes is controlling well.

Shakes takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Gustus stops Shakes from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Shakes can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gustus is looking to escape.

Shakes takes the fight on points by 25 to 7.
