The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Mendoza holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Mendoza tries to work over Houston's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Houston escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Mendoza wants to counter the offense by Houston and move into the clinch position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mendoza has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Houston uses from the top position.

Oh but Mendoza is tightening it up a little... Houston has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Houston reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Houston taps out! Nice BJJ there by Mendoza!
