In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 47 wins and 37 losses; Bjj Steel! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 14 wins and 12 losses; Distant Thunder!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.

Thunder moves into the clinch.

Steel seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Steel has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Steel wants to take his opponent's back but Thunder doesn't allow it.

Thunder tries to hold on but Steel postures up.
Steel sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Thunder tries to control Steel's body but Steel pushes him off. Thunder squirms to his side and now Steel has his back!

Steel just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Thunder is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Steel off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Steel's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
