Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mehdi Kanaani!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brian Dean!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kanaani ducks under a wild hook from Dean.
Dean throws a hook but Kanaani blocks it.
Dean scores with a jab to the jaw.
It looks like Mehdi Kanaani has been cut.
Kanaani scores with a nice body kick.
Kanaani scores with a nice head shot.
Dean fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kanaani manages to avoid it.
Kanaani looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Kanaani bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A swing and a miss from Dean.
Dean misses with a body shot.
Dean sizes up Kanaani with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Dean just misses with a punch to the body.
Dean misses the shot to the body.
Kanaani misses with a body shot.
Kanaani shoots for a takedown but Dean saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Dean blocks a jab.
Kanaani scores with a punch to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dean throws a hook to the side of Kanaani's head but Kanaani sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Kanaani with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Dean to score with a decent uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kanaani pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Dean fails to land with a series of punches.
Kanaani misses with an uppercut. Dean saw that one coming.
Dean lands a big uppercut and Kanaani crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Kanaani looks OK. Dean waves Kanaani back to his feet!
Kanaani is rocked!
Brian Dean is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dean misses with a looping right.
Dean misses the shot to the body.
A quick step to the side and Kanaani tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Dean pounces like a tiger and cracks Kanaani with a vicious hook! Kanaani is down but not out! Dean follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Brian Dean!
