Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dan Connor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike Oliva!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connor lands a nice looking kick to the body. Oliva takes a step back to recover.
Mike Oliva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Oliva misses with a double jab.
Connor doesn't manage to clinch there - Oliva circles away.
Oliva throws a series of punches but Connor avoids them all with ease.
Oliva keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Connor dodges the punch combination from Oliva.
Connor closes the distance and clinches up with Oliva, looking for a takedown. Connor pushes Oliva against the ropes but Oliva circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Connor changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Oliva looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Oliva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Connor. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Connor wants to pass to mount but Oliva is defending the position.

Connor wants to work for an arm triangle but Oliva is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Connor throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Oliva's waist but Oliva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Connor off to one side.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fight stays on the outside here - Connor looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Connor looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

That was a close round but I would say that Dan Connor will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Oliva lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Connor shoots in for a takedown but Oliva shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Connor tries to clinch but Oliva moves out of range.
Connor shoots in but no luck this time.
Oliva throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Connor sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Dan Connor is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Oliva misses with a double jab.
Oliva gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Connor counters with a thumping low kick.
Oliva drops Connor with a right and a left! Oliva comes rushing in but Connor regains his composure and manages to keep Oliva in guard.

It looks like Dan Connor has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Connor has his foot on Oliva's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Oliva works his way back into a safe position though.

Connor is looking for a triangle but Oliva pushes his legs off easily.

Connor bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Oliva's guard.

No joy there for Oliva, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Oliva moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Oliva fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Connor.
Mike Oliva seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Connor feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

I would just about give that final round to Mike Oliva.
I think Oliva has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
