Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thorvald Nansen (ranked 1129 p4p, 2286 weight class) and Bryant Smith (ranked 167 p4p, 298 weight class). Nansen kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Benny Jamz - Torden. Smith is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Television - Marquee Moon. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nansen ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Smith misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Nansen.
Smith rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Nansen counters with a left and a right that stings Smith.

Nansen decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Smith has momentary wrist control but Nansen slips an elbow through the middle.

Smith is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Smith is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith wants to pass the guard but Nansen is defending well.
Smith throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Nansen regains full guard. Nicely done.

I've been told that Smith has been drilling his wrestling of late, which has already helped him take this fight to the mat. Let's see how much of an impact it has on the outcome of the ground game.

Nansen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Nansen looking for a triangle here. Smith is fighting it but it looks tight! Nansen pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Smith is tapping out - this one is all over!
