Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dick Dennison (ranked 149 p4p, 153 weight class) and Chad Bartz (ranked 24 p4p, 25 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dick Dennison!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chad Bartz!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Chris Dean and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dennison checks a low kick from Bartz.
Dennison throws a body shot but no joy.

Bartz gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dennison to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Bartz looking to control.
Bartz avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Dennison has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Dennison wants to pass the guard but Bartz is keeping the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dennison throws a big right hand that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bartz looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Dennison throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bartz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Dennison wants to control from the top but Bartz keeps moving.
We've been hearing that Dennison has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Dennison throws an elbow that misses. Bartz uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dennison's guard. Nice move by Bartz!

Bartz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dennison swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dennison tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Dennison is controlling Bartz's posture.
Bartz slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Dennison is pulling down on Bartz's head. It's preventing any offense from Bartz, at least for the moment.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dennison looking for a sweep. Not yet Dennison, not yet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dennison showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bartz.
Bartz defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dennison.
Dennison uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bartz.
Bartz listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Horrible takedown attempt by Dennison or perhaps it was just good defense by Bartz, which made it look bad.
Dennison misses with a shot to the body
and Bartz counters with a low kick, right behind Dennison 's knee.
Bartz scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Bartz fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dennison darts in trying to clinch
and Bartz counters with a nice body shot.
Dennison tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bartz swivels and escapes.
A nice side step and Bartz releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dick Dennison. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dennison takes a swing at Bartz's ribcage but misses.
Bartz takes one on the button.
Dennison jabs Bartz to the body, keeping him at a distance.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dennison misses with a right hand
and Bartz counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Bartz stuffs the takedown.
Dennison misses with a straight left.
Dennison swings widly with a right hand
and Bartz cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Bartz pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dennison swings for the body but Bartz moves out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dennison. Bartz does a little dance to reset his feet.
Dennison cracks a nice hook into Bartz's ribs.

Dennison manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bartz on his heels. He'll look to pass Bartz's guard now, I'm sure.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Chad Bartz will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Bartz leaves Dennison with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Bartz counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Dennison thinking.
Dennison goes for a double leg but Bartz avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bartz continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dick Dennison. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dennison prevents a body shot from Bartz.
Bartz misses with a body punch.
Bartz lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Dennison or not.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bartz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Dennison is looking to wear down Bartz with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Bartz connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Dennison tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Bartz lands a slapping body shot.
Bartz scores with a spinning back kick!
Bartz lands with a cross.

Dennison is rocked!
Dennison tries to clinch up.
Oh Dennison is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bartz slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bartz fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Dennison out cold! Brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Chad Bartz!

During a confident post fight interview, Chad Bartz thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
