Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stoner Steve!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juan Carlos!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Eliza Hachem and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steve avoids the head kick by Carlos.
Steve was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Carlos shoots in and gets a takedown into Steve's guard.
Carlos looking to sit in guard and control but Steve gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Carlos is looking to sweep but instead, Steve has passed into half guard.
Steve has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Carlos keeping control of the position.
Carlos is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Carlos is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Carlos is concentrating on defense, preventing Steve from advancing position.

Steve pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Carlos is keeping the position for now.
Carlos is looking to sweep but instead, Steve has passed into half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Carlos bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Steve's guard.

Steve is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Steve has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Carlos throws a big elbow that misses.

Carlos wants to control from the top but Steve keeps moving.
Carlos might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Steve haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Carlos working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

A nice combination there by Carlos.
Carlos connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Steve momentarily.
Steve swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Stoner Steve is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Steve throws the left hand but Carlos avoids the punch easily.
Carlos walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

It looks like Juan Carlos has been cut.

Carlos shoots in and bounces Steve off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Steve wants to sweep here but Carlos controlling him for the moment.
Carlos trying to control but Steve is working from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Carlos stands and throws Steve's legs to the side, diving into side control.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

A big left from Carlos misses.
Carlos sizes up Steve with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Steve lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Carlos is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Steve with a body shot.
Carlos has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Carlos tries for a takedown but Steve sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Carlos lands a right hook to the body.
Steve misses with a straight right.
The fighters circling - Steve throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Steve throws a jab but it's blocked by Carlos.
Carlos misses with a hook.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Steve blocks a head kick by Carlos.
Carlos throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Steve cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Carlos displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Steve throws out the jab.
Carlos scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Steve doesn't seem bothered though.

A head kick misses from Carlos.
Carlos shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Steve but Steve pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Carlos avoids the body shot from Steve.
Steve blocks the body kick.
A little feinted left hand from Steve on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Carlos uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Steve.
Nice defenses there by Carlos.
Steve throws a lazy right hand but Carlos sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Carlos let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Carlos clobbers Steve with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Steve throws an overhand right that lands on Carlos's shoulder, as Carlos tries to avoid the shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Steve. Carlos does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Carlos. Steve shrugs it off though.
Carlos lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Carlos darts in looking for a takedown but Steve gets double underhooks and turns Carlos into the cage.
A counter left hand to the body from Steve misses its target.
Stoner Steve has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juan Carlos.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Carlos lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Carlos.
Steve has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Carlos.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Juan Carlos seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Steve throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Steve lands a lovely overhand right.

Carlos is rocked!
Carlos moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Carlos is still on wobbly legs! Can Steve finish him?
Carlos displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Steve throws out the jab.
Steve closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Carlos out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!

During a confident post fight interview, Stoner Steve thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
