Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Soviet Remnant (ranked 2118 p4p, 23759 weight class) and Pawel Nastula (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 14 - 2, fighting out of New York, Soviet Remnant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 57 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pawel Nastula!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Anthony Taglia and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nastula with a poor takedown
and Remnant counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Remnant.
The referee is keeping an eye on Remnant - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Remnant manages to break the clinch.
Remnant closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nastula circles away.

and Nastula holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Remnant is trying to drag Nastula to the mat but Nastula just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Remnant has control of Nastula's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Nastula regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Nastula drops back, looking for a kneebar! Remnant looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Remnant looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Remnant!

Remnant is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Nastula's shoulder. That is not cool.
Nastula felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nastula can do anything to dispel that myth.

A very excited looking Soviet Remnant rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
