The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lyn is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Lyn checks the leg kick.

Downe fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lyn sprawls well initially but Downe persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Lyn tries to kick Downe off but Downe keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Downe is looking for a kimura here.
Downe landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Downe is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Downe seems to be looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lyn is trying to stand up here but Downe is controlling him well.
Downe seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lyn does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Downe wants to control from the top but Lyn keeps moving.
Lyn can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Downe controls the pace.
Downe throws a big elbow that misses.

Lyn can't keep his opponent in guard - Downe advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Downe slows the pace down in half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
