The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diokno throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Virtanen.
Chel Diokno seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Virtanen throws a hook but Diokno blocks it.
Diokno throws a body shot but no joy.

Diokno closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Virtanen misses with the head strike.
Virtanen misses with a punch to the body.
Virtanen takes an elbow to the forehead.
Virtanen struggles to land a body shot inside as Diokno controls his hands.
The referee calls for Virtanen to work.
Diokno works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Virtanen tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Virtanen is looking for a takedown.
Virtanen looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Virtanen tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Virtanen seems to have recovered his senses.
Diokno gets through Virtanen's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Virtanen has a couple of punches blocked by Diokno.
Diokno jerks Virtanen's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Virtanen drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Diokno goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Diokno because Virtanen was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
