Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Stephan Kinsella!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Devon Nzee!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, David Hoff and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kinsella lands with a straight right. Nzee didn't see that one coming.

so Nzee counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Nzee is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Nzee wants to pass the guard but Kinsella is keeping the position.

Nzee drops back looking for a leg! Kinsella is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kinsella manages to kick Nzee off! Nzee jumps back into Kinsella's guard.

Kinsella has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Kinsella has his foot on Nzee's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nzee works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kinsella escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nzee gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kinsella is looking for a triangle but Nzee pushes his legs off easily.
Kinsella has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Nzee is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kinsella.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nzee thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Kinsella is looking to regain half guard here but Nzee keeps moving and retains side control.
Kinsella can't do much from the bottom here.

Nzee has hold of Kinsella's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Kinsella tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Nzee cranks the arm and Kinsella screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Kinsella, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Devon Nzee!
A determined Devon Nzee didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
