Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Thompson (ranked 2098 p4p, 2521 weight class) and Ted Aya (ranked 282 p4p, 325 weight class). Thompson comes to the cage accompanied by The Cranberries - Zombie. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson fails with the takedown.
Thompson ducks under a wild hook from Aya.
A big right from Aya misses.
Aya waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Thompson.
Thompson drops down looking for a counter takedown but Aya sprawls and moves away.

Thompson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Aya wants to improve his position but Thompson is controlling well.
Thompson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Aya with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Aya has hold of Thompson's hands but Thompson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Aya looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Thompson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Thompson lands strikes from half guard.
Aya trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Thompson manages to pass to mount!
Thompson content just to control the position here.
Aya is desperately trying to improve his position but Thompson has a good base and remains in mount.
Aya really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Thompson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Aya wants to hold on but Thompson pushes him away.

Thompson lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

A big strike lands for Thompson! That's really hurt Aya and he's turned his back - Thompson keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Thompson jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
