Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sergey Shipilov (ranked 613 p4p, 591 weight class) and Quebra Cranio (ranked 78 p4p, 75 weight class). Sergey Shipilov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Sergey Shipilov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 1, fighting out of London, Quebra Cranio!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Glass and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shipilov uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cranio.
Shipilov is looking to counter punch.
Cranio throws a combination. Shipilov tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Shipilov takes one to the side of the head.
Cranio throws a hook but Shipilov avoids it easily.
Cranio tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Shipilov was well out of range. Poor timing from Cranio.
Shipilov has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Cranio lands with a hook. Shipilov tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Shipilov pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Shipilov misses with an uppercut
and Cranio counters with a straight right hand.
Shipilov catches Cranio with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

It looks like Quebra Cranio has been cut.
Sergey Shipilov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shipilov connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cranio lands a jab.
Cranio avoids the head kick by Shipilov.
Cranio lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Cranio takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Shipilov fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Cranio takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Cranio moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Shipilov swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Cranio.

Shipilov misses with a head kick.
Nice uppercut lands for Cranio. That snapped Shipilov's head back.
Shipilov misses with a two punch combination.
Shipilov pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Cranio throws a hook but Shipilov blocks it.
Shipilov displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cranio throws out the jab.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cranio lands a big uppercut and Shipilov crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Shipilov looks OK. Cranio waves Shipilov back to his feet!

Shipilov is rocked!
Cranio lands a nice hook to Shipilov's body. Shipilov takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Oh Shipilov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cranio scores with a shot to the body.
Shipilov seems to have got his legs back now.
Shipilov keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Cranio.
Shipilov thinks about countering with a body kick.

Cranio cracks Shipilov with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Shipilov looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Cranio finish him?

and Cranio makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Cranio throws a lazy right hand but Shipilov sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Shipilov tries a head kick but it misses.

Cranio lands a glancing blow to the side of Shipilov's head.
Cranio ducks under a wild hook from Shipilov.
Cranio scores with a shot to the body.
Shipilov throws an off balance right hand

and Cranio counters with a crisp right hand that drops Shipilov! Cranio lets Shipilov back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Shipilov is breathing heavily.
Shipilov avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A telegraphed right hand from Cranio misses the target.
Cranio swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cranio throws a hook but Shipilov avoids it easily.
Shipilov throws a head kick but Cranio moves out of range.
Cranio bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Cranio scores with a hook to the body. Shipilov takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Cranio throws a jab but it's blocked by Shipilov.
Shipilov takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

The fighters circling - Cranio throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Shipilov blocks a jab.
Cranio misses with an uppercut. Shipilov saw that one coming.
Cranio fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Shipilov takes one to the side of the head.
Shipilov is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Cranio throws a hook to the side of Shipilov's head but Shipilov sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

A little jabbing left from Cranio on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Shipilov throws a sloppy head kick and Cranio moves out of range easily.
Cranio lands the left hand.
Cranio is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Shipilov had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
The fighters circling - Cranio throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Shipilov cracks Cranio with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Cranio slips a straight right by Shipilov.
Shipilov blocks a jab.
A big left from Cranio misses.

and Cranio connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cranio scores with a jab. Shipilov acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
The crowd cheers as Cranio lands an impressive looking overhand right. Shipilov doesn't seem phased though.

Cranio throws out a counter right but Shipilov avoids it with no problem.

That has opened up Quebra Cranio's cut even more.
Cranio takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Shipilov throws a head kick but Cranio moves out of range.
Cranio lands a nice hook to Shipilov's body. Shipilov takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Cranio ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Cranio throws a series of punches but Shipilov avoids them all with ease.
Cranio has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Shipilov.
Shipilov throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Shipilov throws a lazy right hand but Cranio sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Shipilov uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Cranio.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Shipilov might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shipilov looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Cranio feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Shipilov sprawling to the canvas! Shipilov rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Cranio finish him?!
Cranio connects with a stiff jab that staggers Shipilov - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Quebra Cranio!
