Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Diego Armando (ranked 2443 p4p, 2477 weight class) and Jacob Handler (ranked 310 p4p, 315 weight class). Handler has chosen KEEPINITBEEFY as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Diego Armando!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jacob Handler!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Handler swings away with a body shot that misses
and Armando cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Handler misses with a left hand
and Armando counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Handler digs a good hook to Armando's body.
Armando misses the shot to the body.
Jacob Handler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Handler drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Handler sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Armando's guard.

Handler seems to be working for a kimura but Armando defends the submission attempt.
Armando wants to improve his position but Handler is controlling well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Armando knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Handler on the ground.
Armando is looking for a sweep. Handler is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Handler passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Armando!
BOOM! Handler connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Armando tries to hold on but Handler pushes him away.
Armando on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Armando tries to get out of the position.

Handler working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Armando turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Handler off and cradles Armando's limp body as Handler celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Jacob Handler!
