Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Remi Chavaski (ranked 776 p4p, 314 weight class) and Sambo Sam (ranked 118 p4p, 53 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Remi Chavaski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Sambo Sam!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Winston Howard and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sam wants to clinch up but Chavaski keeps it at a distance.
Sam closes the distance but Chavaski moves to the side

and Chavaski counters with a takedown into side control.
Sam is looking to regain half guard here but Chavaski keeps moving and retains side control.
Sam being controlled for a moment.
Sam tries to buck Chavaski off but Chavaski is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sam wants to control but Chavaski postures up.
Chavaski wants to take a breather but Sam manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Chavaski.
Chavaski wants to control from the top but Sam keeps moving.

Sam is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Sam keeping moving, preventing Chavaski from controlling successfully.
Chavaski passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Chavaski trying to control the position but Sam is working away.
Sam sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Sam is refusing to be controlled, as Chavaski sits in half guard.
Sam is looking to control Chavaski's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sam avoid being mounted?

Chavaski is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sam is just riding it out for now. Chavaski eventually gives up the hold.
Sam manages to get to full guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Sam working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Chavaski doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Chavaski manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Chavaski wants to pass the guard but Sam is keeping the position.

Chavaski got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sam has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chavaski has managed to get both his arms back between Sam's legs - danger averted.
Chavaski looking to sit in guard and control but Sam gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Sam postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Sam trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sam wants to control from the top but Chavaski keeps moving.

Sam postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Chavaski is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sam, into his guard.

Chavaski advances position into side control!
Sam is trying to improve his position.
Chavaski trying to control the action but Sam is working from the bottom.

Chavaski is trying to get an arm triangle but Sam is defending well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Chavaski is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sam is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Remi Chavaski will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Sam throws a head kick but Chavaski moves out of range.
A little feinted left hand from Chavaski on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Sam misses with an uppercut. Chavaski saw that one coming.
Chavaski tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Sam manages to circle out of the way.
Sam tries to close the distance and clinch up but Chavaski swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Chavaski tries to counter with a takedown but Sam is quick to defend against it.
A head kick by Sam misses

and Chavaski counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Sam is staying active underneath Chavaski, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Chavaski is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Sam wants to improve his position but Chavaski is controlling well.
Sam moves into full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chavaski trying to control the position from guard on top but Sam is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Sam trying to keep a closed guard but Chavaski is proving a slippery customer.
Sam looking to hit a scissor sweep but Chavaski is one step ahead there.
Chavaski advances position into side control!
Sam is not content to let Chavaski control the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Sam wants to control but Chavaski postures up.
Chavaski wants to control but Sam is keeping him busy.
Sam manages to get back to half guard.
Chavaski wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sam keeps working.
Sam makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sam.
Sam lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sam looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Sam working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Sam is looking to pass into half guard but Chavaski pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Chavaski is in guard.

Chavaski slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Chavaski wants to pass the guard but Sam is keeping the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Chavaski has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Sam to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Chavaski is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Sam pulls down on the head and he's put Chavaski to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Sambo Sam!
Sambo Sam really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Un-Kaged Nutrition logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
