The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tantor scores with a hook to the body. Kennedy takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Tantor pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Tantor misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kennedy is looking to counter punch.
Tantor throws a head kick that misses
and Kennedy counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Tantor tries a head kick but it misses.
A counter left hand to the body from Kennedy misses its target.
Kennedy swings and misses with a hook to the body.
We've been told by Kennedy's head coaches at Ice Cream Parlour that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Tantor throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kennedy swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Tantor keeps Kennedy at a distance using the push kick.
Kennedy stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

It looks like Mara Tantor has been cut.
No joy there for Tantor, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kennedy moves away from the strike by Tantor.
Tantor scores with a punch to the head.

It looks like Leonzar Kennedy has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tantor tries a head kick but it misses.

Kennedy seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Tantor lands with a nice combination. Kennedy backs away looking to recover.

Tantor is pawing at Kennedy, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Kennedy's nose. Kennedy is badly hurt! Tantor pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Kennedy tries desperately to hold on but Tantor is relentless in his assault! As Kennedy receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Tantor away and this one is in the books!
