Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Karim Johnson (ranked 76 p4p, 22 weight class) and Beau Canada (ranked 7 p4p, 1 weight class). Johnson comes to the cage accompanied by Don't say nuthin'. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 41 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Karim Johnson!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Beau Canada!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Daniel Bishop and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Canada fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Johnson to the ground. Canada is now in Johnson's guard.
Johnson keeping moving, preventing Canada from controlling successfully.
Canada wants to pass the guard but Johnson is keeping the position.
Johnson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Canada landing some decent shots from guard.
Canada with a flurry of punches that miss.
Canada sitting in guard here, content to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Canada trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Johnson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Nice shot lands for Canada.
Canada lands a jab to the head.
Canada connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Johnson momentarily.
Johnson needs to keep his hands up - Canada had a free shot at his head there.
Johnson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Johnson throws a sloppy head kick
and Canada counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
The fighters circle momentarily. Johnson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Johnson throws a looping overhand right but Canada ducks down to avoid it.
The crowd cheers as Canada lands an impressive looking overhand right. Johnson doesn't seem phased though.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Johnson moves away from the strike by Canada.

Johnson misses with a left hand
and Canada counters with a nice kick to the body.
Karim Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Canada just misses with a punch to the body.
Johnson takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Both fighters circling a little - Canada finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Johnson throws a jab but it's blocked by Canada.
Canada connects with a body shot.
Johnson has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Dr Hatsumi's Clinic in the buildup to the fight.
Canada is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Johnson had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
Johnson is breathing heavily.
Johnson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Canada connects with a jab.

Canada bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Johnson! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

Johnson is rocked!
Johnson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Canada controls the pace.
Canada lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Canada connects with a couple of short punches.
Canada looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Johnson tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Canada is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Canada scoring with some ground and pound.
Canada's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Canada trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Canada has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Canada is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Canada lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Johnson controlling the position.
Johnson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Canada swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Canada dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Canada. Johnson does a little dance to reset his feet.
An attempted straight right counter from Johnson misses the target.
Canada uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Johnson.
Johnson takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Canada is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Johnson.
Johnson throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Johnson throws a body shot but no joy.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Beau Canada dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Canada lets loose with a powerful body kick. Johnson will feel that in the morning.
Canada's corner calls for a 1-2. Canada obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

It looks like Karim Johnson has been cut.
Johnson moves out of range of the body kick.
Canada shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Johnson as he avoids it easily.
Johnson was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Johnson throws a body punch but Canada moves out of range.
Canada throws a big shot that misses.
Canada slips under a jab from Johnson.
Canada throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Johnson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Canada thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Johnson if he has to take too many more of those.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Canada shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Johnson takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Johnson gets tackled into the cage by Canada. Canada maintains the clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Canada lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Canada misses with a punch on the inside.
Johnson misses with a hook to the ribs.
Canada blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Johnson misses with the head strike.
Still in the clinch, Johnson scores with a nice short uppercut.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Canada tries to stall but Johnson uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Canada lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Johnson struggles to land a body shot inside as Canada controls his hands.
Canada drops down looking for an ankle pick but Johnson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Karim Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Beau Canada.

Canada wants to clinch.

A decent looking cross lands there for Canada.
Johnson throws a right hand that misses
and Canada counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Canada misses with an attempted mid kick.
Johnson was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Johnson ducks under a wild hook from Canada.
Canada lands a head shot.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Canada throws a body kick that misses
and Johnson counters with a good low kick that Canada was not able to check.
Johnson will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.

Canada works Johnson's body with a nice hook.

Beau Canada seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Canada connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Johnson's hands.
and Canada counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Johnson! He's just covering up as Canada starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Beau Canada! Beau Canada retains his super heavyweight title!
