PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marco Jansen (ranked 4440 p4p, 6333 weight class) and Andrew Barber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrew Barber!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Bruno Hogan and Topper Green.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jansen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jansen lands with a hook. Barber tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jansen . Barber does a little dance to reset his feet.
Jansen fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Jansen lands with a good body shot.
Jansen lands the left hand.
Barber walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Barber is rocked!
Jansen lands with an overhand left.
Barber is still on wobbly legs! Can Jansen finish him?
Jansen misses with a series of wild punches.
Jansen wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Barber seems to have recovered his senses.
Jansen lands a jab to Barber's midsection.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jansen fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Jansen is looking to wear down Barber with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Jansen feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Barbers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Jansen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Barber takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Jansen lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Barber takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Marco Jansen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jansen scores with a jab to the body.
Barber is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Jansen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Barber throws out the jab.
Jansen lands with a straight right. Barber didn't see that one coming.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jansen bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Barber's head backwards.

Jansen scores with a jab. Barber acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Barber gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Barber gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Jansen .
Barber is looking to clinch but Jansen is avoiding it.
Barber takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Jansen slips a jab and a cross from Barber.
Jansen scores with a body shot.
Jansen bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Barber's head.
Jansen lands a jab to the nose.

Jansen throws a shot to the body.
Jansen scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Jansen closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Barber! Jansen dives in looking to finish! Barber is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
