PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brendan Solomon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JeanGuy Rubberboot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rubberboot comes into a darkened arena with his song building. James Brown The Big Payback kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Solomon fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rubberboot avoids it really well and circles away.
Solomon swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Rubberboot displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

Rubberboot closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Rubberboot has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Solomon looks to score with a jab to the body but Rubberboot is just out of range.
Rubberboot fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Solomon.
Rubberboot lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Solomon circles away quickly and effectively.

Rubberboot falls off balance throwing a combination
and Solomon counters with a nice uppercut.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Rubberboot wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Rubberboot is trying to break the clinch but Solomon has him pressed against the cage.
Solomon jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rubberboot walks away with a smile on his face. Solomon gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Rubberboot tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Solomon paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Rubberboot goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Solomon takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Rubberboot takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Solomon fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rubberboot manages to avoid it.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rubberboot accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Solomon lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rubberboot!

Solomon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That was a close second round but I would say that Brendan Solomon will probably get the nod.

Solomon is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Rubberboot can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Rubberboot rolls with it to try and escape but Solomon cranks on the arm and Rubberboot is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
