Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Snake (ranked 25745 p4p, 4544 weight class) and Duke The Chosen One (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Snake has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Snake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Duke The Chosen One!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Columbo Gatti and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snake lands a two punch combo.

The Chosen One looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Snake!
Snake wants to control but The Chosen One postures up.
Snake is trying to get back to his feet.
Snake gets back to half guard.
Snake throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Snake avoiding damage under a succession of punches from The Chosen One.
Snake manages to get to full guard.
Snake manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. The Chosen One manages to get himself to full guard.

Snake trying to control but The Chosen One is working from the bottom.

The Chosen One is working an open guard so Snake takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

The Chosen One gets caught flat footed, as Snake shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Snake thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Snake throwing strikes but missing.

Snake drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Snake jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The Chosen One pulls Snake in to control the position.
The Chosen One not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Snake is stalling in the full guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Snake throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
The Chosen One wants to clinch

and Snake counters with a shoot takedown. The Chosen One fights it but they end up in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Snake stands up and waves to The Chosen One to follow him.

The Chosen One tries to keep at a distance but Snake has taken the fight into the clinch.

The Chosen One gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Snake kicks The Chosen One off and gets back to his feet.

Snake has closed the distance and engaged The Chosen One in a clinch.

Snake has The Chosen One pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Snake pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending The Chosen One tumbling to the mat - Snake dives into The Chosen One's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The Chosen One had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Snake defends it easily.
The Chosen One looks winded!

The Chosen One is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The Chosen One really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Snake. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Snake decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

The Chosen One bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Snake throws The Chosen One to one side and escapes!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

John Snake dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

John Snake is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The Chosen One takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Snake feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Snake here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Snake gets to his feet. The Chosen One looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Snake lands with a good body shot.

The Chosen One shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Snake's guard.

Snake wriggles free and stands up.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The Chosen One tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Snake was well out of range. Poor timing from The Chosen One.
No joy there for The Chosen One, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
The Chosen One letting Snake take a breather here.

Snake pulls The Chosen One into guard.
The Chosen One is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The Chosen One controls from within his opponent's guard.

The Chosen One got a little sloppy there for a moment and Snake has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, The Chosen One has managed to get both his arms back between Snake's legs - danger averted.
Snake is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Snake looking to secure an arm triangle but The Chosen One defends it well.

Snake is going oldschool here, as he tries to force The Chosen One to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so The Chosen One shrugs it off.
John Snake overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Snake throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
The Chosen One holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Snake tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Snake controlling the position easily from mount.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


The Chosen One gets tackled into the cage by Snake. Snake maintains the clinch.
The Chosen One gets underhooks to prevent Snake's takedown attempt.
The Chosen One stalling in the clinch but Snake improves position.
A frustrated look appears on Snake's face as he tries to break the clinch.

The Chosen One works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Snake manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. The Chosen One manages to get himself to full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Snake is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that The Chosen One can do to turn this around?

Snake stands up out of the half guard.
The Chosen One takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
A solid body kick from Snake.
Snake throws a front kick that sends The Chosen One stumbling back into the cage.
The Chosen One tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Snake paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Snake appears to be looking for a big counter.

Snake decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Snake is working for a submission of some sort.
Snake content to control rather than advance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Snake is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, The Chosen One has managed to free his arm - good work.
Snake not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Snake throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Snake stalling.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Snake closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. The Chosen One did well to prevent Snake getting side control.

Snake is sneakily working for an arm triangle but The Chosen One sees it coming and defends easily.
The Chosen One is trying to control but Snake manages to pass to mount!

John Snake showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Snake has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
