The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Knightley misses.

The fighters circling - Mfer throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Mfer scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Knightley doesn't seem bothered though.
An inside leg kick from Mfer misses.
Mfer throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Knightley sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Mfer loads up on a big right hand but Knightley slips the punch.
Mfer feints and then cracks Knightley's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Knightley down.
Mfer tests Knightley's chin there with a solid looking shot.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mfer throws the left hand but Knightley avoids the punch easily.
Mfer scores with a leg kick.
Pate Mfer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Knightley's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Mfer connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Knightley scrambles back to his feet.

Knightley goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Knightley was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Mfer thuds his shin into the meat of Knightley's side.
Knightley lands a head kick. Mfer smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

It looks like Pate Mfer has been cut.
Mfer ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Knightley moves away.
A head kick misses from Mfer.
Knightley connects with a single shot there.

Mfer lands a big head kick that sends Knightley tumbling to the mat! Mfer takes a step backwards and waves Knightley back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Knightley is rocked!

It looks like Donny Knightley has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A kick lands to the mid section there for Knightley.
Oh Knightley is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Knightley throws a jab but it's blocked by Mfer.
Mfer cracks Knightley with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Knightley tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Mfer pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Knightley is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pate Mfer!
Pate Mfer is the new middleweight champion!
