Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Buzz Bullard (ranked 591 p4p, 1051 weight class) and Toshiro Hitsugaya (ranked 44 p4p, 73 weight class). Buzz Bullard has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Buzz Bullard!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Toshiro Hitsugaya!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, David Hoff and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bullard misses with a right hand
and Bullard takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
A big left from Bullard misses.
Bullard fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hitsugaya manages to avoid it.
Bullard uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hitsugaya.
Bullard lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hitsugaya circles away quickly and effectively.
Danga de danga de dang - Hitsugaya scores with a four punch combination!
Bullard avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Hitsugaya throws a big shot that misses.
Nice straight punches there by Bullard. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Bullard.
Hitsugaya lands a glancing blow to the side of Bullard's head.
Bullard definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Bullard lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Hitsugaya at a distance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hitsugaya throws a jab when Bullard was well out of range.

Bullard shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hitsugaya is trying to defend but Bullard finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Bullard is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hitsugaya!

Bullard is landing with some decent strikes but Hitsugaya is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Hitsugaya throwing hammer fists to the chest of Bullard. What's that going to do exactly?
Hitsugaya stops Bullard from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Hitsugaya wants to control but Bullard is having none of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bullard is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Hitsugaya to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Hitsugaya shrugs it off.
Hitsugaya flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

Bullard wants to finish this one by submission but Hitsugaya is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Bullard.
Hitsugaya is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bullard trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Hitsugaya's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Hitsugaya throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Hitsugaya trying desperately to get to his feet.
Hitsugaya really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bullard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bullard trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Hitsugaya in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Hitsugaya felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Hitsugaya is bucking up trying to escape but Bullard cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Bullard takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Hitsugaya is squirming around, avoiding Bullard's attempts to control the action.

Bullard looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Hitsugaya keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Hitsugaya is trying to stand up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Buzz Bullard dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Bullard moves out of range as Hitsugaya strikes.
A jab lands there for Hitsugaya.
Toshiro Hitsugaya seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hitsugaya rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Bullard counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Bullard lands with a hook. Hitsugaya tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Hitsugaya moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Hitsugaya scores with a jab to the body.
Hitsugaya swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bullard rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hitsugaya moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hitsugaya looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Hitsugaya misses with an uppercut.
Bullard takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Hitsugaya throws a jab but it's blocked by Bullard.
Bullard throws a hook to the side of Hitsugaya's head but Hitsugaya sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Hitsugaya blocks a jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bullard uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hitsugaya.

Bullard moves into the clinch.

Bullard swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Bullard's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bullard fails to land the takedown.
Hitsugaya throws a body punch but Bullard moves out of range.
Bullard lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Hitsugaya might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Bullard scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Hitsugaya scores with a jab. Bullard acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Bullard takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Hitsugaya lands with a good body shot.
Bullard takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Hitsugaya lands with an overhand left.

Bullard is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hitsugaya connects with a right hand. Bullard shakes it off.
Oh Bullard is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bullard gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Hitsugaya gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Bullard is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Toshiro Hitsugaya!

Toshiro Hitsugaya decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
