And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 4 losses; Sergey Makarov!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.


Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious?
Makarov shoots in looking for a takedown. Zulu tries to sprawl out of it but Makarov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Zulu manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Zulu changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Zulu moves into the clinch.
Zulu is looking for a takedown.
Makarov drops down looking for an ankle pick but Zulu pulls his leg out and moves away.
Zulu leaves Makarov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Shaka Zulu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sergey Makarov.
Zulu stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Zulu wants it to stay on the feet.

Zulu takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Zulu wants to control the pace but Makarov is squirming around nicely.

Makarov has gone for a leg lock! Zulu slips out almost immediately though and dives into Makarov's guard.

Zulu is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Makarov is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Zulu defends well.

Makarov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Zulu doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Makarov is tightening it up a little... Zulu has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Zulu reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Zulu taps out! Nice BJJ there by Makarov!
