The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McCarthy looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Waterman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McCarthy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McCarthy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Waterman looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
McCarthy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
McCarthy wants to control from the top but Waterman keeps moving.
McCarthy postures up in Waterman's guard and throws a big left but Waterman blocks it.

McCarthy drops back looking for a leg! Waterman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Waterman manages to kick McCarthy off! McCarthy jumps back into Waterman's guard.

Waterman has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think McCarthy should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Waterman has tightened it up now! McCarthy should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
