And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ivan Sidorov!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hopson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Sidorov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hopson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sidorov makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Sidorov tries to free his leg and advance position but Hopson is retaining full guard.
Sidorov keeps trying to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sidorov is on top in guard.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Sidorov working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Sidorov lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Hopson down.

Sidorov looks up at the clock and then as Hopson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Sidorov smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hopson prevents Sidorov from improving position.
Hopson regains half guard, as Sidorov was trying to land strikes.

Sidorov seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

After winning the bout, Ivan Sidorov thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
The defeated Jaimie Hopson had this to say: 'He beat me when I was bed ridden, I barely made it to the arena tonight, I’m still so sick. This doesn’t even count.'.
