PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gregory Motts (ranked 426 p4p, 838 weight class) and Nuufo Seanoa (ranked 27 p4p, 53 weight class). Nuufo Seanoa told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nuufo Seanoa!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Seanoa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Motts manages to avoid it.
An attempted straight right counter from Motts misses the target.
Motts misses with a body punch
and Seanoa counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Motts thinking.
Seanoa has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Motts is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Motts looks to land a left hand but Seanoa moved out of range nicely.
Seanoa misses with a wild body shot.
A little feinted left hand from Motts on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Gregory Motts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Motts tests Seanoa's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A slow jab from Motts misses its intended target.
Seanoa lands a lovely overhand right.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Motts just misses with a punch to the body.
Seanoa ducks under a wild hook from Motts.
Seanoa walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

It looks like Nuufo Seanoa has been cut.

Seanoa throws a leg kick but Motts sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Motts lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Seanoa misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Motts misses with a looping right.
Seanoa tries to close the distance and clinch up but Motts swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Motts counters with a straight right hand.

Motts swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Motts throws an overhand right that lands on Seanoa's shoulder, as Seanoa tries to avoid the shot.

Motts looks to throw the jab but Seanoa is out of range.
Motts throws a hook but Seanoa blocks it.
Seanoa is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
The fighters circling - Motts throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Motts lands a jab to the nose.
Seanoa tries to close the distance and clinch but Motts swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Motts was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Motts misses with a hook
and Seanoa counters with a left to the body.

Seanoa gets control of Motts's arms and successfully pulls guard. Seanoa will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Seanoa looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Motts is defending well. Seanoa quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Motts has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Seanoa celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
