Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stoner Steve (ranked 510 p4p, 678 weight class) and Derrick Lewis (ranked 80 p4p, 102 weight class). Derrick Lewis acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stoner Steve!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Derrick Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steve waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Lewis.
Lewis has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Steve throws a right hand that misses
and Lewis counters with a nice uppercut.
Steve throws a shot from downtown. Lewis moves away and avoids it.
Lewis wants to clinch but Steve slips to the side
and Steve counters with a three punch combo that has Lewis backing up. Lewis nods at Steve to acknowledge the strikes.

Steve gets caught napping as Lewis dives in and scores a takedown. Steve manages to retain guard.
Steve controlling Lewis's posture.
Lewis trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Steve looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lewis trying to control the position from guard on top but Steve is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lewis sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Steve's guard.
Steve works his way to full guard. Good work.
Lewis slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Lewis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Steve keeps working.

Lewis goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Steve rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Lewis's guard! Nice work there by Steve!
Steve engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Steve continues to stall.

Lewis has his foot on Steve's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Steve works his way back into a safe position though.

Lewis is looking for a triangle but Steve pushes his legs off easily.
Steve advances to half guard.

Steve controlling the action here.
More hug and hope from Steve.
Lewis makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Lewis.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lewis wants to sweep but no luck.

Lewis working for submissions but it's allowed Steve to get to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Well, if Steve is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Lewis with the active half guard here but Steve passes nicely into side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lewis is looking to reverse the position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Stoner Steve will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Lewis drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Lewis tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Steve gets back to half guard.

Lewis is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Steve has managed to free his arm - good work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lewis works his foot free and advances to mount.

Steve regains half guard.

Lewis is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Steve still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Steve has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Lewis gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Steve is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lewis actively working from the bottom here.

Steve slows the pace down in half guard.
Lewis wants to improve his position but Steve is controlling well.
Still in half guard, Steve seems content to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lewis gets full guard.

Lewis looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Steve controlling from the top position.
Steve postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Steve is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Steve sizes up Lewis with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

It looks like Derrick Lewis has been cut.
Steve fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lewis manages to avoid it.
Lewis appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Stoner Steve is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Steve misses with a body shot.
Lewis closes this distance looking for a takedown but Steve circles away.
Lewis fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Lewis throws a leg kick
and Lewis takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lewis shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Steve as he avoids it easily.

Steve lands a big uppercut and Lewis crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Lewis looks OK. Steve waves Lewis back to his feet!

Lewis is rocked!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Stoner Steve dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Derrick Lewis's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Steve darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Lewis's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Steve before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Stoner Steve!
Our winner, Stoner Steve, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
