Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eugenio Roth (ranked 3983 p4p, 5835 weight class) and Hansi Urpils (ranked 515 p4p, 570 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eugenio Roth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hansi Urpils!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Urpils throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Urpils tries to keep at a distance but Roth has taken the fight into the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been hearing reports that Roth has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Roth seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
Roth scores with a shot to the side of Urpils's head.
Roth will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Urpils up against the cage.

Roth has picked Urpils up - he's going for a ride! Roth dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Roth postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Urpils to stand up.
Roth dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Urpils. That did some damage!
Urpils shoots in looking for a takedown. Roth tries to sprawl out of it but Urpils keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Roth manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Roth is pushing Urpils up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Roth gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Urpils looking for a sweep. Not yet Urpils, not yet.
Urpils is still trying to improve position.

Roth gets to his feet - Urpils follows without any prompting.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Urpils fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Roth takes the fight into the clinch.

Roth moves into range and clinches up with Urpils.

Roth has clasped his hands together around Urpils's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Urpils shoots in for a takedown but Roth shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Roth is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Urpils.

Roth has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Urpils is trying to keep an underhook but Roth manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Roth knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Urpils on the ground.
Urpils wants to hold on but Roth pushes him away.

Roth pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Urpils back to the cage. Roth follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Roth wants the takedown. Urpils is fighting it off but Roth persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Urpils's guard against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Urpils working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Roth doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Roth manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Roth stands and steps away. Urpils gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Roth closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Roth decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Roth fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Roth is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Urpils can do to turn this around?

Roth changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Urpils looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Roth decides to stand up, so the ref orders Urpils to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Urpils darts in and clinches Roth up against the cage.
Roth lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Urpils is working for takedown but Roth is calmly controlling the position for now.
Eugenio Roth has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hansi Urpils.

Roth jumps guard and drags Urpils to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Roth manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Urpils lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Roth circles away quickly and effectively.
Horrible takedown attempt by Urpils or perhaps it was just good defense by Roth, which made it look bad.

Roth closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Urpils's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Roth breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Urpils drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Roth throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Urpils throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Roth throws a leg kick which misses Urpils's front leg but catches the back leg as Urpils tries to avoid it.
Urpils misses with an uppercut. Roth saw that one coming.

Roth moves into the clinch.
A knee to the head by Roth.
Hansi Urpils has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Eugenio Roth is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Urpils misses with some punches.

Eugenio Roth showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Roth has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
