PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gillechriosd McCoy (ranked 240 p4p, 1912 weight class) and Sambo Sam (ranked 38 p4p, 255 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think McCoy might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to YxngB - The Irish. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McCoy tries to sprawl but Sam drives through with a takedown into half guard.

McCoy has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sam is working away from the top position though.
Still in half guard, Sam seems content to control.

McCoy is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sam pulls his head out easily.

McCoy's coaches at Zombie MMA have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sam has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for McCoy! Can he survive? No! He's out! Sam gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
