PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Poop Head (ranked 2968 p4p, 4289 weight class) and David Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 478 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thompson gets the takedown into side control.
Head tries to escape but Thompson is in control.

Thompson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Head. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Thompson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Thompson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

David Thompson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Head pushes Thompson off looking to stand but Thompson dives back in and keeps control.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Thompson connects with a nice short shot to Head's temple.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Thompson lands a nice short elbow.

Thompson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Head doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Thompson.

Thompson seems to be looking for submissions.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Thompson is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Poop Head is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Head misses with a few strikes there.

Thompson closes the distance and pushes Head back into the cage.
Head is trying to pull guard but Thompson has him pressed against the cage.
Thompson pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Thompson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Head avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

David Thompson decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
