Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kuroda Atsushi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joshua Whitlock!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
A chopping leg kick lands by Atsushi.
Atsushi throws a low kick but Whitlock avoids it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Whitlock dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Whitlock takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A nice side step and Whitlock releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Atsushi is looking to chop away at Whitlock's legs.
Atsushi stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Whitlock.
A leg kick checked by Whitlock.
Atsushi throws the kick towards the body but Whitlock avoids it.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
A chopping leg kick lands by Atsushi.
Atsushi tries to score with a low kick but Whitlock moves his leg out of the way.
Whitlock just misses with a punch to the body.
Atsushi feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Atsushi throws a leg kick that is checked
and Whitlock counters with a straight right hand.
And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kuroda Atsushi.
Well Atsushi has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
