Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Herio Lupsaka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Wesley Silva!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Josh West and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Lupsaka with that takedown attempt.
Silva keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lupsaka goes for a double leg but Silva avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Silva continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Herio Lupsaka. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Silva tries to break the clinch but Lupsaka is controlling the position.
Silva pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lupsaka avoids the head kick by Silva.
Lupsaka takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Lupsaka looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Horrible takedown attempt by Lupsaka or perhaps it was just good defense by Silva, which made it look bad.

Lupsaka has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
