Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Oscar Gage (ranked 1002 p4p, 866 weight class) and Kwawi Mumba (ranked 140 p4p, 123 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Oscar Gage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kwawi Mumba!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gage looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Mumba lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Gage takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Gage gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Mumba.

It looks like Oscar Gage has been cut.

Gage takes the fight into the clinch.

Gage ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gage no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Gage manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mumba manages to get himself to full guard.

Gage trying to control the position from guard on top but Mumba is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gage wants to pass the guard but Mumba is keeping the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gage seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mumba does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

I really don't envy Mumba right now.
Gage looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Mumba is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Gage is trying to stick to Mumba's back but Mumba is turning into Gage. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Gage's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Mumba.

Mumba tries to free his leg and advance position but Gage is retaining full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gage not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gage might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Mumba trying to control but Gage is working from the bottom.
Mumba must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Gage throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Gage bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mumba's guard.

Gage wants to control from the top but Mumba keeps moving.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Mumba is looking for a triangle but Gage pushes his legs off easily.

Mumba looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Gage has picked Mumba up and slammed him! Mumba can't keep hold of the triangle and Gage manages to pass to side control!

Mumba throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gage sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Nice body punch from Mumba.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mumba enables Gage to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mumba manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Gage got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mumba has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gage has managed to get both his arms back between Mumba's legs - danger averted.
Gage sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mumba's guard.
Mumba is looking to improve his position.

Gage is working for a kimura but Mumba is defending it quite comfortably.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mumba struggling a bit here.

Gage swings around for an armbar but Mumba sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Gage's guard.
Gage can't keep his opponent in guard - Mumba advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Gage has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mumba is working away from the top position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mumba works his foot free and advances to mount.
Gage is desperately trying to improve his position but Mumba has a good base and remains in mount.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Mumba goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Gage turns into him and now he's in Mumba's guard.
Mumba can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gage controls the pace.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Mumba throws an ugly left hook that misses
enabling Gage to counter with a crisp jab.
Mumba swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gage changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Nice straight punches there by Mumba. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Mumba.
Gage throws a right hand that Mumba ducks under and follows up with a left that Mumba also avoids with ease.
Mumba takes a swing at Gage's ribcage but misses.

Gage decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Gage wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mumba keeps working.
Mumba is looking for a sweep. Gage is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mumba is looking to control Gage's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mumba avoid being mounted?

Gage is looking for a kimura but Mumba is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gage to get the leverage.
Mumba felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Gage seems to be looking for submissions.
Mumba is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Gage jumps into side control!

Gage uses his free foot to push down on Mumba's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Mumba.

Gage is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Mumba to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mumba shrugs it off.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gage, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
