Hall comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Pinball Wizard kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Lou Valentine has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ralph Hall!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valentine throws a wild body kick that Hall sees coming a mile off.
Valentine misses with a body shot.

Valentine is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hall has escaped the position, nice work there.
Valentine moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hall is trying to control but can't.

Hall wants to clinch up but Valentine keeps it at a distance.
Hall lands a jab.
Valentine throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hall bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Valentine lands with a thumping leg kick.
Valentine shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hall eats them both and turns towards Valentine to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

It looks like Ralph Hall has been cut.
Valentine lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hall circles away quickly and effectively.
Hall with the counter takedown but Valentine avoids it easily.

Valentine throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Hall's head.
Lou Valentine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A low kick from Valentine is predictable there

and Hall counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Valentine!

Hall working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Valentine is trying to get back to half guard.

Valentine seems a little lost for a moment, as Hall dominates the positioning.

Hall passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Valentine!
Lou Valentine overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Hall looking to secure an arm triangle but Valentine defends it well.
Valentine is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hall can do to turn this around?

Valentine stops Hall from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Hall tries to control but Valentine wriggling away.

Hall is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Valentine can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Hall jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Valentine manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hall in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Valentine struggling a bit here.

Hall goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Valentine rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Hall's guard! Nice work there by Valentine!

Valentine stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Hall throws up his legs and catches Valentine in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Valentine tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Hall! That came out of nowhere!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Ralph Hall!
After the fight, Ralph Hall was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
