The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Derin tries to sprawl but Chai drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Derin has one foot on Chai's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Derin looks to score with a jab to the body but Chai is just out of range.
Chai dives in and grabs Derin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Derin pushes down on Chai's head and hops out.
Derin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Chai goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Chai dives in for a single leg takedown but Derin sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Chai is stalling here. Derin is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Chai seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Derin has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
